Ralph Leslie Lemley, 63, of Marianna, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017, in Washington Hospital.
He was born December 7, 1953, in San Bernardino, Calif., a son of the late Ralph and Muriel Hotchkiss Lemley.
Mr. Lemley graduated from Waynesburg High School and worked in Emerald coal mine for 23 years before his retirement.
He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee. He was also a member of American Legion Post 744 of Marianna, United Mine Local 2258, Marianna Field and Stream Club, West Beth Park Board and Marianna Volunteer Fire Co. He helped serve Meals on Wheels in Vestaburg, volunteered with the food bank and helped out in Marianna Library. He played Santa for many years in Marianna. He volunteered his time to help all neighbors and friends in Marianna. He was a big Steelers fan and enjoyed watching the Pirates. His best friend was his dog, Sydney.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Shriver Lemley, having shared 29 years of marriage; a son, Brandon Scott Lemley of Marianna; two sisters, Linda Dusenberry of Macon, N.C., and Suzanne (Steve) Pardon of Henderson, Nev.; two brothers, Richard (Shiela) Lemley of Alleppo and Donald (Brenda) Lemley of Waynesburg; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and JoAn Ansell of Marianna; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his stepmother, Donna Lemley and two sisters, Carolyn Smith and Marilyn Nichol.
Visitation will be held from noon to 5 p.m., the hour of service, Saturday November 4, in Nichol Funeral Home, 1728 Main Street, Marianna, with the Rev. Julie Kolacz officiating. Interment will be private. In honor of the deceased, the family suggests Steelers attire be worn.
