Dwanda B. Burack, 81, of Washington, formerly of Waynesburg, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017, in her home.
She was born January 2, 1936, in Masontown, W.Va., to Francis and Prudie Simmons.
On November 10, 1955, she married Charles R. Burack, who died July 12, 2011. Mrs. Burack was a member of Central Assembly of God in Houston and had been a longtime member of First Assembly of God at East View. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., from 1983 to 1996.
Surviving are daughter Cynthia Burack of Columbus, Ohio, and Washington, D.C; a son, Charles C. Burack and daughter-in-law Cyndee Burack of Greensboro; a granddaughter, Rachel Burack of Morgantown; two sisters, Elizabeth Cottrell of Atwater, Ohio, and Diana Shane of Belspring, Va.; and abrother, Robert Simmons of Morgantown.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a sister, Virginia Sumpter, and a brother, Francis Simmons.
Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, November 13, in Behm Funeral Home Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. with Brian King officiating. Private inurnment will be in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
