Claude Allan Pratt, 95, of Millcreek Township, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017, in St. Vincent Hospital. At last, he’ll be in heaven, where he will be relieved of all pain.
He was born August 7, 1922, in Erie, a son of the late Roy and Prudence M. Howard Pratt.
Mr. Pratt was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He was employed by and retired from Kaiser Aluminum after decades of service.
On December 15, 1946, he married the love of his life, Betty Ohman Pratt, in Grace Lutheran Church. They were married for 71 years. They continued to live in the Millcreek home they built together by hand in 1948.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty J. Ohman Pratt; his children, Claudia Pratt Wiencek of Tavares, Fla., Jay Pratt (Laura) of Millcreek Township and Linda Szkotnicki (Tom) of Hampstead, N.C.; his grandchildren, Amy Wiencek Popeck, Matthew Wiencek, Lee Szkotnicki (Cortney), Greg Szkotnicki, Casey Pratt, Kevin Pratt (Elizabeth) and Brian Pratt (Jen); and great-grandchildren Allyson and Erin Popeck and Evelyn Pratt.
Friends may call Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road, Erie, from 3 until 7 p.m., the time of service, Thursday, November 16. Interment will be private.
