Marion Lambert Schaefer, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, November 22, 2017.
She was the beloved wife of the late Glenn A. Schaefer for 57 years; loving mother of Steven Schaefer, Teri Sue (Glenn) Phoenix and David (Kristin) Schaefer; cherished grandmother of Alyssa Head (Richie), Kathleen Schaefer, Jeffrey Phoenix (Kristin), Christopher Phoenix (Caroline), Timothy Phoenix (Hannah) and Joey Phoenix; and caring great-grandmother of Camden, Clark, Chloe Cate, Cohen, Caplan, Caiah, Chelsea, Savanna, Shianne, Griffin and Wyatt.
Mrs. Schaefer was the daughter of William J. and Myrtle Churchill Lambert, formerly of Mt. Washington.
She was a graduate of South Hills High School and Robert Morris School of Business.
Mrs. Schaefer was an active member of Mt. Washington Baptist Church, and later, South Hills Assembly of God. Throughout her life, she was active in Christian organizations, especially Peters Township Campus Life Club, which met in the Schaefer home for many years.
After the passing of her beloved husband in 2010, she moved to Westminster Towers in Rock Hill, S.C., where she was an active member of Westminster Towers Drama Club. She had great appreciation for the kindness of her new community, particularly for her special friend Dr. Jim Sims.
Friends welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 10:45 a.m., the time of service, Saturday, December 2, in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. Interment will be private. Arrangements are also pending for a memorial service at Westminster Towers in Rock Hill.
She was a faithful servant of her Lord. She knew the power of prayer, and she spent much time praying for her loved ones and studying the Bible. Her favorite verse was Isaiah 41:10 which encouraged her in difficult times. Her warmth, compassion and humor touched countless lives.
