Elizabeth Irene Doak Ferrell

Elizabeth Irene “Betty” Doak Ferrell, 96, of Brooklyn, N.Y., formerly of Washington, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 14, 2017. She was born February 16, 1921, in Washington County, a daughter of the late Porter J. Doak and Clara Elizabeth Miller Doak. She lived as a young girl in West Middletown and graduated from Avella High School. Mrs. Ferrell was a retiree of Jessop Steel, where she worked for over 20 years. She was a past matron of Martha V. Paul Chapter 40 of Order of the Eastern Star. She also held several Grand Chapter of Pennsylvania appointments. She was married to Donald L. Ferrell, who is deceased, and Eugene Ferrell, who is also deceased. Surviving are her children, Ann Lipkind of Brooklyn, Lorna Morrison of Alpharetta, Ga., and Bill Ferrell of Apex, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Thursday, October 19, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
