Richard Lee Deitrich

Richard Lee “Deech” Deitrich, 70, of Burgettstown, Hanover Township, passed away after a brief illness Monday afternoon, October 16, 2017, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 24, 1946, in Charleroi, a son of the late Rolland Deitrich Sr. and Eva Hammer Deitrich.
He attended Weir High School in Weirton, W.Va., and retired from Jone & Laughlin Steel in Aliquippa, where he was a crane operator.
He was a member of Weirton Covenant Church and enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.
His beloved wife, Michelle Riter Deitrich, whom he married November 30, 1991, survives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his five children, Sherry Deitrich of Phoenixville, Dana Bongiorni and husband Richard of Cherry Valley, Amy Williams and husband Earl of Follansbee, W.Va., Kayla Deitrich of Burgettstown and Logan Deitrich of Burgettstown; six grandchildren, Sarah and Ben Gittleman, Luc and Sydney Bongiorni and Jesse and John Orison; a sister, Carolyn Childers and husband Gene of Kentucky; sister-in-law Darlene Deitrich of Burgettstown; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a son, John Deitrich, who died in infancy, and a brother Rolland “Ronnie” Deitrich Jr.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Lee and Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 20. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Florence.
