James S. “Jim” Goettmann, 66, of Canonsburg, passed away surrounded by family Friday, October 27, 2017.

He was born December 29, 1950, a son of the late Arthur and Susan Goettmann.

He was the loving father of Neil (Jessie) Goettmann and Jamie (Justin) Fonner; dear grandfather of Caiden, Jacob, Abel, Luca and Ryan; dear brother of Susan (Anthony) Compeggie and Tammy Goettmann; and loving uncle to Valerie Compeggie.

Deceased is a brother, Gary Goettmann.

Mr. Goettmann loved hunting and fishing, and he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Goettmann was employed by Iron Workers Local 3 for 30 years until his retirement.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his dog, Tyson.

At the family’s request, all services will be held privately. Burial will take place in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with full military honors.
