Julia R. Takacs, 99, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 29, 2017, in Concordia Hospice of Washington Donnell House.
She was born December 21, 1917, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Fe’her Rebosky.
Ms. Takacs was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg.
She worked as a laser technician for RCA in Canonsburg, until her retirement.
Ms. Takacs was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and RCA Retirement Club. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, particularly crocheting and sewing.
She was the last of her immediate family.
The Donnell House staff provided Ms. Takacs with kindness and compassion while she was in their care.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara McGary of Canonsburg; grandchildren Tracy Peyton (David), Dana Cilano (Vincent), Mark McGary (Beverly), Theodore Takacs (Theresa) and Dwayne Takacs; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a son, Theodore Takacs; two brothers, Bela and Frankie Rebosky; a sister, Mary Zaricki; and a grandson, Shane Takacs.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, November 11. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9 a.m. in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Concordia Hospice of Washington Donnell House or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
