Rosa Lee Pinkney, 85, of Washington, died Sunday, October 29, 2017, in Washington Hospital.
She was born March 13, 1932, in Raleigh, N.C., a daughter of the late Lewis Arnold Anderson and Mattie J. Dupree Anderson.
Mrs. Pinkney was a graduate of Washington High School. She worked at Bobbie Brooks as a seamstress and later at Brockway Glass as a packer.
She was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church, Loyal Order of Moose 2, Order of the Eastern Star, Keystone Club, Alpine Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mrs. Pinkney was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing.
On October 6, 1973, she married Franklin D. Pinkney Sr., who survives. They were married for 44 years.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert (Hazel) Clifford of Washington and Franklin (Gail) Pinkney Jr. of Washington; a daughter, Rebecca (Steven) Alderman of Roanoke, Va.; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Melissa, April, Robert, Cassandra, Austin and Bentley; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of service, Wednesday, November 1, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial is private.
