Charlotte Jane Galish, 88, of Burgettstown, ended her journey here Monday, October 30, 2017, when she peacefully passed on to her next destination, where she was reunited with the love of her life, George Galish, who passed away August 3, 2009.
She was born January 24, 1929, in Clune, a daughter of the late Charles O. and Mary Elizabeth Grimm Willis.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Galish was employed at Burgettstown High School, Petrucci’s Market, then drove a school van for special needs children.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Burgettstown, Slovan Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Slovan Fire Department Auxiliary.
Mrs. Galish loved to laugh, read, knit, crochet and hold children.
On September 24, 1948, she married George Galish.
Surviving are children Larry (Vickie) Galish of Atlasburg, Sharon (John) Arden of Somerset and Mark (Maureen) Galish of Slovan; daughter-in-law Stephanie Galish of Slovan; grandchildren George (Kriston) Galish, Kevin (Jackie Deer) Galish, Carrie (Nelson) Ferris, Jeremy (Karen) Galish, Tyler (Brittany) Galish, Travis Galish and Rachel Galish; great-grandchildren Eliza Jane, Luke and Beau Ferris, Madison Galish and Abby, McKenna and Payton Galish; many nieces and nephews; and caretaker Karen Knisley.
Deceased are a son, George E. Galish; seven sisters; and four brothers.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:15 a.m. Friday, November 3, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Burgettstown, with the Rev. George Moneck, as celebrant. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
