William D. Ames

William D. Ames, 61, of Scenery Hill, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018, in his home.

He was born December 15, 1956, in Easton, Md., a son of the late William O. Ames and Judy A. Conaway Ames of Bentleyville, who survives.

William was a 1974 graduate of California Area High School. Mr. Ames worked as a carpenter and roofer for many years. He enjoyed the Pittsburgh Pirates and spending time with friends.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two brothers, Kenneth Ames (Ruth) of Carroll Township and Kirby Ames (Mark Grisham) of St. Louis, Mo.; sister Kelly Weaver (Bob) of Clover Hill; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Loved ones appreciate special friends Jeremy, Fritz and Joe, who helped take care of him in his later years as he battled his long-term struggle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Deceased, in addition to his father, is an infant brother, Richard Ames; cousin Bruce Boyle; and longtime companion Rose Sebetich and her daughter Brittany Chapman.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 6, with Sheldon Ames officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park Brier Hill.
