E.J. Monaghan, 79, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018.

He was born December 26, 1938, in Uniontown, a son of the late Edward James Monaghan Sr. and Margaret Button Monaghan.

Mr. Monaghan was a 1956 graduate of St. John High School in Uniontown. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Gettysburg College.

He worked in the Chevrolet business for 50 years, starting with his father’s dealership, Monaghan Chevrolet in Uniontown.

E.J. loved dogs and enjoyed a good beer. He was a good husband and best friend to his wife, Ginger. He was a great friend to all who knew him. Mr. Monaghan was a proud Irishman who had a great smile and a twinkle in his eye.

He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Conway, S.C., for the past 11 years.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a brother, David Monaghan.

Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Ginger Monaghan of Conway; two sons, Ned Monaghan of Orange, Calif., and Michael Monaghan of Pittsburgh; and a granddaughter, Katelyn Monaghan of Orange.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of Mass, Monday, April 16, in St. James Catholic Church, Conway. Entombment will follow in St. James Columbarium, Conway.
