Randy Grimes, 60, of Waynesburg, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018, after battling a lengthy illness.

Born January 26, 1958, in Waynesburg, he was a son of the late William D. Grimes and Carolyn M. Wood Grimes of Waynesburg.

Randy was a lifetime resident of Waynesburg. He graduated in 1976 from Waynesburg Central High School and was a lifelong member of Throckmorton United Methodist Church in East View.

He worked for West Penn Wire for seven years. He enjoyed riding his Harley when he could. Randy liked playing the drums and guitar. He enjoyed the company of his two dogs, Shadow and Louie. Randy loved to bake chocolate chip cookies. His favorite pastime was watching deer and the Steelers and Pirates games on TV.

Randy was a good husband and friend, always had a smile on his face and had an ear for anyone that needed him.

He is survived by his wife, Tonja Bennett Grimes of 29 years, married August 20, 1988; a sister, Pastor Cynthia (Butch) Deter of Rogersville; four brothers, Rodney (Susan) Grimes of Jefferson, Dave (Sandra) Grimes of Spraggs, Mark (Rhonda) Grimes of Hopwood and Pastor Dan (Kathy) Grimes of Venus; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, deceased are his paternal grandparents, Orville and Carrie Grimes; maternal grandparents Ray and Lucy Wood; and a nephew, Adam Ray Grimes.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC., 3275 West Roy Furman Highway, Rogersville, PA 15359, 724-499-5181, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, with Pastor Dan Grimes and Pastor Cynthia Deter co-officiating.
