Iris M. Nelson Deitt
Iris M. Nelson Deitt, 63, of West Alexander, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018, in Washington Health System-Greene, with her loving family by her side.
Born May 8, 1954, in Lubeck, Germany, she was a daughter of Gene and Ingrid Hartkoph Nelson of West Alexander.
Iris was a resident of Washington County for the past 50 years, and a 1973 graduate of McGuffey High School, where she was in the band and on the basketball team.
Iris received an award for the Presidential Physical Fitness Program.
She married James Alan Deitt September 25, 1987.
She attended First Christian Church in West Alexander. She loved to be outdoors with her pet horses, ponies, cats, dogs and feeding the birds, while spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Stacy (Myra) Deitt and Jayme (Clayton) Deitt, both of West Alexander.
