Jean C. Murray, 93, of Fredericksburg, Va., formerly of Jefferson, passed Tuesday, April 10, 2018, in Spring Arbor, Fredericksburg.

She was born December 4, 1924, in Jefferson, a daughter of the late Frank and Edna Hewitt Craft.

She was a graduate of Jefferson High School.

On June 24, 1944, she married Charles E. Murray Sr., who died November 14, 1986.

Mrs. Murray was a homemaker. She resided most of her life in Jefferson, until moving to Fredericksburg in 2001.

Jean was a member of Jefferson Presbyterian Church, Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are a son, Kurt L. Murray of Fredericksburg; three grandchildren, Andrea Erickson (Kyle) of Woodford, W.Va., Brandon Murray of Fredericksburg and Carrie Murray of Morgantown, W.Va.; and a niece and three nephews.

Deceased are a son, Charles E. Murray Jr., and a sister, Ruth Craft Braddy.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Tuesday, April 17, in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, with the Rev John R. Dorean officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean’s memory may be made to Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company.
