Mary Lou Lemley

Mary Lou Lemley, 89, of Mt. Morris, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018, with her family by her side.

She was born August 11, 1928, in Jakes Run, W.Va., a daughter of the late Andy Pete Tennant and Audie Ellen Henderson Tennant.

She was a 1947 graduate of Clay Battelle High School.

Mrs. Lemley worked at Owens Illinois, Sterling Faucet, Holiday Inn, Mt. Morris American Legion and Shoney’s. She also provided day care for several children and had a positive influence on them.

She will be missed by her friends and family.

Surviving are a son, Robert Lemley and wife LuAnn of Mt. Morris, and a special friend, Marilyn Grandison of Mt. Morris. She raised Tabitha Statler of North Carolina as her own. She was blessed with four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brother Robert N. Tennant of Fairview, W.Va.; sister Diane Hunnell and husband Charles of Fairview; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her husband of 64 years, Eugene F. Lemley; son, Earl Andrew Lemley; two sisters, Carol Thomas and Rebecca Steele; and a brother, David Tennant.

Heaven is rejoicing today.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mt. Morris, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, with the Rev. John Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery, Pentress, W.Va.
