Robert J. Schroeder
Robert J. Schroeder, 65, of Washington, died Monday, April 16, 2018.
He was born June 9, 1952, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late James and Rose Carr Schroeder.
Mr. Schroeder attended Washington High School.
He worked as a union journeyman carpenter.
Mr. Schroeder enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR. He was an avid fan of Penn State athletics, as well as the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins.
He was a member of Bears Club, Alpine Club and Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 American Legion, Washington.
Mr. Schroeder served in the U.S. Navy.
On September 5, 1988, he married Terry L. Wyland, who died July 17, 2014.
Surviving are two sons, Anthony R. (Natalie) Schroeder of Monongahela and Robert F. (Mandy) Schroeder of Claysville; a daughter, Anita M. (Brian) Carrier of Jacksonville, N.C.; a sister, Paula Sampietro of Washington County; six grandchildren, Noah and Brayden Schroeder, Hunter and Hannah Schroeder and Emily and Erika McAdams; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, is a granddaughter, Miah Schroeder.
Friends will be received from noon to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 23, with Pastor Mike Flannery officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with full military honors accorded by the U.S. Navy and Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of American Legion.
