William B. Rice Jr.

William B. “Bill” “Pedo” Rice Jr., 60, of Sunset Beach, N.C., passed away in his home Monday, April 16, 2018, from a heart attack. He was born March 29, 1958 in Scenery Hill.

Mr. Rice graduated from Bentworth High School in 1977. He retired from ABF Freight and continued to work for Freightliner/Westernstar Truck Sales. He also owned several trucks of his own.

Bill was fortunate enough to be married to his best friend, Angela Slack Rice, for the last 20 years.

Mr. Rice loved his dogs, Jayde and Sampson. He enjoyed spending time on the beach with Angela. He also enjoyed traveling and camping. Bill lived in Dubois for most of his life, where he loved the mountains, hunting and fishing. He loved going to Colorado for hunting trips with his father, uncles and nephew. He spent lots of his time restoring old cars and trucks and riding his Harley.

Bill was a smooth talker that would stop and talk with anyone and everyone as if they were old friends.

Mr. Rice is survived by his wife, Angela; parents William B. and Peggy E. Rice; sisters Debra Goodwin (Donald), Brenda Polen (Tom) and Rebecca Conner (David); children Nichole Mari Pyle, William Andrew Rice, Ryan Rice, Briana Rice and Ryan Slack.

In addition, Bill leaves behind grandchildren Jared and Evan, Lilly and Liam and Ava. He was also loved by his nieces and nephews, Jamie Watson, Donny Goodwin, Tina Bockstoce, Tom and Tim Polen and Heather Jenkins.

Bill is also survived by several great-nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a nephew, Brett Goodwin.

A memorial service will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 22, in Knights of Columbus, 208 Abromaitis Street, Bentleyville. All are welcomed to attend.
