Sophie Koval Saut, 94, of Cecil, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018, in North Strabane Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after surviving colon cancer in 1975.

She was born March 24, 1924, in Sygan, a daughter of the late John and Rose Pasterak Koval.

Her family was her life. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and listening to classic country or polka music.

Surviving are two sons, William (Marion) Saut Jr. of Cecil and Raymond (Sarah) Saut of Chippewa; a daughter, Betty (William) Wilson of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, Deanna (John) Lubic, Kevin (Minnan Xu) Wilson, Lorri Wilson (Brian Doran), Raymond (Vanessa) Saut and Matthew and Eric Saut; seven great-grandchildren, Alyssa Ligato, Brittany Lubic, Scarlett and Hazel Doran, Kaiyi Wilson and Wyatt and Rowan Saut; two great-great-grandchildren, Lydia Redmon and Luke Ligato; and two sisters, Julia DiDomenico and Eva (Frank) Kamovitch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Saut Sr.; sisters Ann Pustovrh, Rose Coligan and Mary Precopia; and brothers Michael, William, John, Andrew and Paul Koval.

Private services and burial will be held in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.

Arrangements are entrusted to Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, Cecil.
