David L. Harris
David L. Harris, 51, of Cameron, W.Va., passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018, in his home after a lengthy illness.
Born May 2, 1966, in Morgantown, W.Va., he was a son of the late Gerald D. and Nancy L. Clark Harris.
David was a 1985 graduate of University High School in Morgantown. He previously worked for GMS as a surface miner for two years. David was also active with Cameron Volunteer Fire Department and employed by Star City Fire Department and Mon County EMS.
He loved trout fishing and going on outdoor trail walks with his wife. David enjoyed taking trips to Cooper’s Rock and seeing the rapids at Valley Falls. He always took pride in his yard work and landscaping, making sure everything looked nice.
David was best known for being a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Mona Sue Harris of Cameron; two sons, Kyle Matthew Harris and Cody Alex Harris, both of Morgantown; five grandchildren, Zane Mitchell, Kady Mitchell, Walker Masters, Landon Mitchell and Chase Mitchell; three stepgrandchildren, Christopher, Cuyler and Camden McCauley; two sisters, Linda (Kevin) McMillen and Pamela (Tim) Davis, both of Morgantown; and two brothers, Gerald (Barb) Harris and Eugene (Candy) Harris, both of Morgantown.
In addition to his parents, deceased is a son, Shawn Michael Harris, who passed away in 1992.
At the request of the family, all services are private and have been entrusted to Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC., 3275 West Roy Furman Highway, Rogersville, PA 15359 (724-499-5181). A gathering will be set at a later date for family and friends at Cameron EMS Building, 14 Wilson Lane, Cameron, WV 26033.
