John Curtis Davis, 38, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born July 28, 1979, in Waynesburg, a son of Carol Davis Jones and the late Richard J. Jones.
He was a graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School and Culinary Institute of Pennsylvania.
He was employed as a chef at Texas Roadhouse and Outback Steakhouse, both in Washington, and Overtime on the Mon in Fredericktown.
He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Bentleyville.
Mr. Davis received the Governor’s Award for Culinary Arts and had cooked for Garth Brooks. He enjoyed video games and spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by three sisters, Michele Davis of Canonsburg, CarMelitta Davis of Colorado and Jennifer Jones of Pittsburgh; a brother, James C. Davis of Colorado; two nieces; two nephews; a great-niece; and four great-nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, with the Rev. Layman Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery, Marianna.
