Diane Teresa Crutchfield Sanford

Diane Teresa Crutchfield Sanford, the first of six children, was born July 16, 1952, a daughter of the late Lenore Ward and Chester Crutchfield. She went home to be with her Lord Saturday, April 21, 2018.

Diane was born in Wheeling, W.Va., and raised in Washington, where she lived most of her beautiful life.

In 1975, she graduated from California University with a bachelor of science degree. She then worked in various leadership positions, including toxicologist for Gulf Oil, executive director of Lemoyne Community Center and head of microbiology for Canonsburg Hospital. During her more than 20 years of working, Diane grew and cherished many friendships in the community and served humbly at Friendship Baptist Church.

Diane loved playing bingo and doing crossword puzzles. She was extremely intelligent and she loved God and her family dearly.

Deceased are her father, Chester Crutchfield; her mother, Lenore Ward; and a daughter, Kara Sanford.

Surviving are a daughter, Nicole (Michael) Meads; grandchildren Chauntae and Tyeisha Crutchfield; great-grandchild Jordan Crutchfield; five siblings, the Rev. Chet Crutchfield, Michelle Crutchfield, Sharlene Crutchfield, Melvin Crutchfield and Omar Young; and a host of nieces and nephews.
