Thelma K. Talpas
Thelma K. Talpas, 91, of Carmichaels, formerly of Waynesburg, died at 6:17 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018, in the home of her daughter, Martha.
She was born Tuesday, March 29, 1927, in Aleppo Township, Greene County, a daughter of the late Ben F. King and Minnie Simms King.
Mrs. Talpas attended Spraggs United Methodist Church.
She worked as an operator for South Penn Telephone Co. for several years.
On October 16, 1964, she married her husband, Dr. Michael K. Talpas, who died December 18, 2001.
Surviving are two daughters, Martha Matyk and husband Paul of Carmichaels and Connie Parry and husband Gerald of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Amanda (Frank) Lawrence, Michael (Kristin) Staggers, Lisa White and Rebecca (Michael) Sentner; four great-grandchildren, Daniel White, David M. Staggers, Stephen Lewis and Jaxson Lawrence; special niece, Judy King of Everett; and several nieces and nephews.
Thelma was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased are two sisters, Hazel King and Mabel L. Shriver, and a brother, William King.
At the request of the family, all services and burial are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
