James Lyn “Gypsy” Wilson, 69, from Decatur, Ill., and previously of Washington, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018, after “knocking on heaven’s door” for many months.

He was a son of the late Elmer and Mary Wilson. Also deceased are his brother, Robert Clutter; sister Doris Mae Rankin; and grandson Keegan Walter.

He is survived by sons Eric Wilson (Barbara) of Washington and Christopher Wilson of Illinois; daughter Michelle Batorson (Tony) of Illinois; grandchildren are Chalese and Carly Wilson of Washington and Tyler, Jada and Gage Wilson and Toby Walter of Illinois. Also surviving are nephews, nieces and several friends.

James worked for the laborers union in Illinois for many years.

He was a fun person who loved music, shooting pool and just talking and enjoying people. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private interment will be held at a later date.
