Shirley L. Carroll
Shirley L. Carroll, of Chartiers Township, passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 4, 2018, in Washington Hospital.
She was born February 15, 1943, in Eighty Four, a daughter of Albert C. and Ida Mae Huseman Rogers.
Mrs. Carroll was a 1961 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School.
Shirley worked as a customer service representative for Joy Mining Machinery for 43 years, retiring in 2004.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Meadow Lands.
Family and friends were always warmly welcomed into her home. She was an exceptional cook and loved celebrating holidays and special occasions with her family.
Shirley was a voracious reader and a loyal cheerleader for the Steelers and Pirates and loved her beach vacations to Virginia, Florida and Aruba.
On October 2, 1965, she married Bill Carroll, whom she met in the sixth grade at Meadow Lands Elementary School.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sisters, Norma Moore and Linda Kreminsky (Stan), both of Washington; a brother, Albert Rogers (Carol) of Canonsburg; brother-in-law Ronald Rudnisky; 32 nieces and nephews; and 65 great-nieces and great-nephews.
A sister, Ruth Rudnisky, is deceased.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadow Lands, with the Rev. Carmen D’Amico, as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Sisters of St. Joseph, 1020 West State Street, Baden, PA 15005, or Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern PA, 308 East Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15301.
