Peggy Khalil, 73, of Finleyville, formerly of McMurray, passed away Monday, August 6, 2018.

Peggy was born November 10, 1944, in Mine Lamont, Mo. She was raised in Pennyrile State Park, Ky., and other state parks around Kentucky. She graduated from Dawson Springs High in 1962.

On July 21, 1966, Peggy married the love of her life, James Khalil, they shared 52 years of marriage.

Peggy enjoyed cards, teaching both “grandgirls” how to do math by learning poker, she also loved baking bread and making her “famous pizzelles.” Peggy’s true passion was spending time with her family, especially her “grandgirls,” Alayna and Rayanna, she always looked forward to her weekends with them.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father; mother Anna Rachel Thomson in 2009; brother Pat McCormick in 1988; and son Patrick James Khalil in 2012.

She is survived by her husband, James F. Khalil; her son, Michael Khalil of Bloomfield; and her daughter, Melissa (David) Siders and her grandgirls, Alayna Faye and Rayanna Elizabeth Siders, all of Canonsburg.

Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. A gathering of family and friends will be held immediately after in Lawrence Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.
