Thomas Francis Shanahan
Thomas Francis Shanahan, 92, died Thursday, August 9, 2018.
He was the beloved husband of Odessa Gillispie Shanahan for almost 70 years; son of the late Lawrence and Emma Miller Shanahan; brother of the late Lawrence, late Carl, late Robert, late John, Emma (Gertrude) and the late Dorothy Shanahan; loving father of the late Linda Lee Shanahan, Patricia (Frank) Challinor, Sandra (Al) Pizzuti, Thomas J. (Shelly) Shanahan and Michelle (Jeff) Antantis; cherished grandfather of Jessica Hritz, Jonathan Pizzuti, Melissa Mechtel, Thomas N. Shanahan and Matthew Antantis; and stepgrandfather of Jacob, Joshua and Jessica Darling.
Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren.
Thomas was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving proudly during World War II in the invasion of Normandy and Iwo Jima.
He was an employee of Ryan Homes.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, 412-221-3333, where a service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 15. Interment and military honors will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
