Donald Lee McWhorter

Donald Lee McWhorter, 55, of Cecil, died peacefully after a long battle with Huntington’s disease, Saturday, August 11, 2018, on his last visit to the Outer Banks, N.C.

He was born August 25, 1962, in Hopewell, Va., a son of George L. Sr. and the late Mildred G. Rethage McWhorter.

He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time with family.

He worked on the assembly line at RB&W in Coraopolis, was a warehouse superintendant at Geneva Medical and a hardworking entrepreneur doing home inspections and owning M&S Lawn Care.

Surviving are his wife, Lori Prescott McWhorter of Cecil; stepdaughter Sara (Craig) Holland of Ligonier; stepson George Stavropoulos of Coraopolis; grandchildren George Stavropoulos IV and Aaliyah Stavropoulos, both of Cecil; brother George (Kathy) McWhorter of Canonsburg; a sister, Millie McWhorter of Cecil; a niece and goddaughter, Brandi Stasik of Cecil; and goddaughter Alicia Martinez of Imperial.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Rt.50, Cecil, where prayers of transfer will be said at 9 a.m. Thursday, August 16, followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Barbara’s Church, Prestley Road, Bridgeville. Interment will follow in the St. Barbara’s Cemetery, Bridgeville.
