Marion Floyd Kuhar

Marion “Max” Floyd Kuhar, 85, of Blainsburg, died Sunday, August 12, 2018, in his home.

He was born December 8, 1932, in Denbo Heights, a son of the late Andy and Catherine Pavlak Kuhar.

After retirement, he was an avid believer in nature and caring for his lawn and yard ornaments.

He was a Korean War veteran.

He owned and operated Marion’s Restaurant in West Brownsville, West Brownsville Hotel and Marion’s Used Furniture Store.

Marion was predeceased by his wife, Norma Jeannie Kuhar, and a daughter, Marian Kuhar Wilson.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lori Lynn Hornyak and husband Bill of Tennessee; grandsons Michael Follain of Belle Vernon and Peter Follain II of Eighty Four; a great-grandson, Peter Follain III; brothers and sisters William James Kuhar and wife Lucy of Washington, Norma Jean Kuhar Hayden of Blainsburg, Andrew Vincent Kuhar and wife Gloria of Washington and Joann Kuhar Saghy and husband William of Blainsburg; his caregivers, Dr. Marcy Saghy and Kevin Bodnar, both of Blainsburg; a son-in-law, Tom Wilson of Blainsburg; a special neighbor, Cindy Jacobs; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in Skirpan Funeral Home, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, with the Rev. Thumma Fathimareddy officiating. Interment in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill. Full military rites accorded by American Legion Post 940, 295 and 838.
