Robert J. Gurosko Sr.
Robert J. Gurosko Sr., 75, of Slovan, passed away peacefully Monday evening, August 13, 2018, of complications from suffering a stroke in June, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington.
He was born August 14, 1942, in Southview, a son of the late George and Mary Gurosko.
A 1961 graduate of Fort Cherry High School, he worked as a coal miner for Westland Coal Co., before retiring as a self employed contractor.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, he served as a medic in Ft. Bragg, N.C., from 1964 until being honorably discharged in 1966.
Mr. Gurosko was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Burgettstown.
His loving wife of over 50 years, Arlene McCoskey Gurosko, who he married November 12, 1965, survives. Together, they celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2015.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Robb Gurosko Jr. of Slovan and Rodney Gurosko and wife Lauren of Aliquippa; his beloved grandson, Grady; sisters Elizabeth Gurosko of Southview and Rose Ann Zanoli and husband Chuck of Cheswick; brothers Dave Gurosko and wife Carol of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Jim Gurosko of Azle, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a brother, George Gurosko Jr.
To honor his wishes, there will be no public visitation and services will be held privately for his immediate family.
