Wendy Williams Winston

Wendy Williams Winston, 51, passed away June 6, 2018, in Tampa, Fla., following a short battle with cancer, in her home surrounded by family.

Born in Fairmont, W.Va., she was the only child of Barbara and Brent Williams.

Wendy grew up in Clarksville, W.Va.

Wendy and her husband met in Colorado and were inseparable best friends from their second date on. They married in 1993 and spent the next 25 years traveling the world together as part of his U.S. Army career. They moved 13 times, living all over the United States as well as in Germany, India, Nepal, and Botswana, raising their sons, Kyle and Max, along the way.

Wendy was very adventurous and was a competitive tennis player among many other activities. She graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in three years and worked as a diplomat overseas. She lived a very full life, doing and seeing more than most people accomplish in twice her time. Wendy was a unique and wonderful person who had a positive impact on everyone she met. Incredibly beautiful inside and out, her loss leaves a huge hole in our lives and hearts.

In addition to her husband Greg and sons Kyle and Max, she is survived by her mother, Barbara Williams of Clarksville; father Brent and stepmother Loretta Williams of Fairmont; parents-in-law Linda and Eric Winston of Union W.Va.; sister-in-law Tess Winston-Sims; brother-in-law Terry; and niece Hallie of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

A memorial service celebrating Wendy’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 26, in Baptist Church, 179 Pine Street, Jefferson, PA 15344.
