Wade Johnson Jr.

Wade Johnson Jr., 80, of Washington, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2018, in Donnell House, Washington, after a lengthy illness, with his loving family at his side.

Mr. Johnson was born July 22, 1938, in Washington, a son of the late John Wade Sr. and Anna M. Graytock Johnson.

He was a 1957 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.

Mr. Johnson was employed as a machinist for Star Mould Machine Co. (Star Dynamics) and Crile Machine, until his retirement. He had also been employed as a lot attendant/all-around right-hand man at Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc. for 13 years. He took great pride in his job at the funeral home and was always there when he was needed.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and woodworking. He also was a western-style square dance caller for 40 years, started Button & Bows Square Dance Club, where he traveled over five states calling western-style square dancing.

Mr. Johnson was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1083 and Bishop Boyle Assembly, 922 of the 4th degree, Knights of Columbus.

On August 1, 1959, he married Mary Ellen Sanphilip, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Jackie (Paul) Kauffman of Washington, Bonnie Seibel (David Vakulick) of Leechburg and Cathy (Howard) Clifton of Claysville; four grandchildren, Patrick (Becca) Mitchell, Jennifer Seibel (Keegan Smith), Adam (Lisa) Kauffman and Casey Jones; a great-grandson, Liam Mitchell; and several friends and cousins.

Mr. Johnson loved and enjoyed his entire family. He will also be sadly missed by his two best fury friends, Clipper and Bella.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, where a prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 25, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, with the Rev. William P. Feeney as celebrant. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, South Strabane Township. The rosary will be recited by Knights of Columbus Council 1083 at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
