Margaret A. Lines

Margaret A. “Peggy” Lines, 69, of Finleyville, Ginger Hill, died Friday, August 31, 2018, in her home.

She was born October 27, 1948, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Clarence Francis and Mary Gestiehr Schuetz.

Peggy was a graduate of Baldwin High School, Class of 1966. She successfully went on to graduate from culinary school at Arsenal High in Lawrenceville and taught cake decorating at South High in the South Side. She pursued her career and became head chef at the Harvard, Yale, Princeton Club, the Marriott Executive Dining Room in downtown Pittsburgh, the Jones and Laughlin Research in Baldwin and the Bureau of Mines in South Park.

She was a very active member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish in Monongahela. She was faithfully involved with Vacation Bible School, where she taught crafts and encouraged the children with her friendliness and caring. Her car was her navigating tool for chauffeuring those in need of transportation. She could always be counted on to produce exceptional baskets for all events.

She was a member of the Fr. Edwin Kaczmarek Council 2600 Columbiettes, Ladies of Charity, Ginger Hill Grange 1549, Sisters Place – Hats Off To Mom Pittsburgh and was formerly a Girl Scout Leader for Troop 1541 in Baldwin.

She is survived by her brother, Clarence and wife Sonnie Schuetz, nephew Michael and wife Ashley Schuetz and great-nephew Chase Lincoln Schuetz, all of Ginger Hill.

In addition to her parents, deceased are her husband, David R. Martinez on June 17, 2008, and son Richard Lyn Lines, who died in infancy.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. Funeral prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Damien of Molokai Parish with the Rev. William Terza, pastor as celebrant. Committal services and interment will follow in St. Dominic Cemetery, Donora.
