Marjorie Warnick Larson, Ph.D., of Darnestown, Md., a lifelong educator, died of pancreatic cancer Sunday, October 21, 2018.
She was born March 3, 1938, in Blairsville, a daughter of Margaret Hester Reed Warnick and William James Warnick.
Marjorie is survived by her first husband, caregiver and friend, Edward Gazvoda; brothers John and Linda Warnick and Kenneth and Beverly Warnick; son Edward and Myra Gazvoda, grandchildren Manda, Ashley, Kennith, Grant and Garrison and great-grandchildren Ruth and Isaiah; daughter Michelle and Tom Wentz and grandchildren Tommy, Sean, Jilzie, Steven and Zachary; and many relatives, friends and students.
She was predeceased by son Steven Gazvoda; brother Wayne Warnick; and husband Herbert Edwin Larson.
Dr. Gazvoda graduated from Blairsville High School, Waynesburg College, American University and George Washington University, with a doctorate in special education.
A graveside service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, in Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery. Immediately following, all are invited to a celebration of Marjorie’s life at Jaleo, Arlington.
