Barbara M. Gerb
A private viewing and service was held Monday, December 3, for Barbara M. Greb, 86, of Washington, formerly of Charleroi. Barbara passed away peacefully Thursday, November 29, 2018, in Presbyterian SeniorCare Nursing Home, Washington, with family by her side.
She was born November 1, 1932, in Point Marion, a daughter of the late Harry and Hazel Bennett Maple.
Barb was formerly a member of Charleroi Presbyterian Church and worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone for more than 30 years
Barbara and her second husband proudly established an endowed travel fund at Washington & Jefferson College to encourage international studies; the award was called The Barbara Betler Greb and Edward M. Greb Travel Award.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Dr. Edward Greb; son Jeffry (Susan) Betler of Fallowfield Township; daughter Billie (Peter) Eaves of Washington; sister Penelope and Wallace Hodge; sister-in-law Bonnie Maple; four grandchildren, Brittany (Joshua) Andy, Philip (Heather) Eaves, Katherine (Zachary) Bonatesta and Michael Betler and fiancée Clare; and three great-grandchildren, Grayson and Sawyer Andy and Arthur Eves.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William J. Betler Jr.; brother Harry Maple; and sister Virginia Snow.
Arrangements were entrusted to Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc., 226 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi, PA 15022.
