Kenneth Edward Stewart, 74, of Mt. Morris, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018, in Evergreen Assisted Living, Morgantown, W.Va.

He was born Thursday, April 20, 1944, in Oil City, a son of the late Charles Francis Stewart and Grace Marie Eichenburger Stewart. His stepfather, Shine Gump, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Stewart was a member of American Legion James T. Maxon Post 992, Mt. Morris, and Mt. Morris Sportsman’s Club.

He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed farming and hunting.

Mr. Stewart was a coal miner, working at Humphrey No. 7 Mine in Mt. Morris and retiring in 1999.

His wife, Edna Jane Phillips Stewart, whom he married November 28, 1964, survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Virginia and husband Randy Johnson of Rockwood; a son, David and wife Beth Stewart of Fairview, W.Va.; and three granddaughters, Rebecca Johnson, Allison Johnson and Halee Stewart.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Friday, December 7, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mt. Morris, PA 15349. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
