Ethel Mae Sulitz
Ethel Mae Sulitz, 93, of Washington, died Wednesday, December 5, 2018, in Premier Washington Health Center.
She was born September 1, 1925, a daughter of the late Warren and Belle Byrd Crowe.
On August 24, 1944, she married Jack I. Sulitz.
Ethel was a 50-year member of Third United Presbyterian Church, past auxiliary president of Edwin Scott Linton Legion Post 175 and a volunteer for Washington Hospital Auxiliary for many years.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Jack I. Sulitz, and sons, David Jack Sulitz and Larry Allen Sulitz.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Milton) Shockley; daughter-in-law Mary Sulitz; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her wonderful friends, Bob and Penny Caleffe.
There are no words that could adequately describe the presence of Ethel when she walked into the room. She was a woman with her own mind and a vibrant sense of humor. Ethel had great love for her family and friends and giving of her time and possessions. She got great joy from crocheting and baking pies.
She was devoted to her Lord and was an active member of the church from teaching Sunday school to serving as a deacon and elder. As you remember her making her final journey, imagine she’s dancing into heaven and into the arms of her loved ones.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, December 8, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, with Pastor Fran Skariot officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
