Mildred Buell Marshall
Mildred Buell Marshall, 99, of Washington, formerly of Ligonier, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018, peacefully in her home of 54 years, with her family by her side.
She was born September 20, 1919, in Elrama, a daughter of the late Frank and Altina Ecklund Buell.
Mrs. Marshall was a graduate of Ligonier Valley High School and received a bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She was Christian and taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Ligonier Valley.
Mrs. Marshall was an accomplished pianist and an avid gardener who enjoyed the outdoors. She enjoyed collecting antiques and spending time with her family. Mrs. Marshall loved her family dearly and made many sacrifices for them throughout her lifetime. She would do anything for anyone in need. She was a kind and gentle woman and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
On December 20, 1945, she married James M. Marshall, who died in January 2001.
Surviving are a son, William G. (Beverlee) Marshall of Colorado; two daughters, Marjorie J. (Robert) Smith of California and Joan E. (Ed) Harris of Tennessee; and a granddaughter, Dr. Marianne (Kyle) Marshall-Gibson.
In addition to her parents and husband, deceased are three brothers.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2018, in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Laughlintown, with the Rev. Charles Burd officiating.
