John C. “Cookie Man” Smith, 69, of D’Iberville, Miss., passed away unexpectedly Friday November 30, 2018.
John was born November 12, 1949, in Washington, a son of the late George Smith and Margaret Noble Smith.
On October 25, 1985, he married Carol Tullar Smith, who survives.
He was Baptist and attended Church of Christ in Ocean Springs, Miss.
John’s favorite activity was spending time with his family. He also enjoyed cooking, telling jokes, fishing, bowling, card games and cruising the coast.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four daughters, Debbie (Kevin) Everett of Canonsburg, Cristina (John) Donaldson of Burgettstown, Jackie (Joe) Schultz of Burgettstown and Michele Herrod of Avella; son Brian Hook of Biloxi, Miss.; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He also had another great-grandchild on the way
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Smith and a granddaughter.
A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, December 10, in Avery United Methodist Church, Washington.
