John H. Horne, 88, of Washington, died Friday, December 7, 2018, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
He was born February 12, 1930, in Washington, a son of the late George Earl and Madge Bedillion Horne.
Mr. Horne attended Chartiers High School and was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church.
John worked as an operator and mechanic for Richard Construction and H.J. Schneider Construction companies.
He was a life member of Operating Engineers Local 66.
A person who was handy around the house, he loved fixing and modifying things and enjoyed reading and doing puzzles.
On August 2, 1952, he married Margaret Davis, who died May 23, 2015.
Surviving are a son, John (Melanie) Horne of Athens, Ohio, and a sister, Joyce Lynn Horne of Washington.
Deceased is a brother, George E. Horne.
A memorial gathering will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., the time of a memorial service, Sunday, December 16, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Myles Bradley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
