Julia A. Modic
Julia A. Modic, 94, of McMurray, formerly of Burgettstown, died Thursday, December 6, 2018, in Washington Hospital.
She was born June 19, 1924, in Atlasburg, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Ondejko Bibo.
She was a 1941 graduate of Burgettstown Union High School.
On June 30, 1951, she married Lewis Modic.
Prior to retirement, she was employed as a parts clerk at Dellaria Lincoln-Mercury, Burgettstown.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and Christian Mothers. She was an auxiliary member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6553 in Slovan, as well as a member of Burgettstown Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her children, Lewis J. (Mary) Modic and Rita (Dr. Mark) Mamros; sister Betty Smutny; grandchildren Amanda Leister, Rita (Brandon) Owen, Lewis A. (Tiffany) Modic, Rachel, Joseph and Robert Modic and Matthew and Elizabeth Mamros; and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are her grandson, Andrew Mamros; brothers John Bebo and Andrew Bibo; sister Helen Taylor; and twin sister Ann Bibo.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021, 724-947-2049, www.youngfhinc.com. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Burgettstown. Internment will be in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
