Cecil Kenneth Martin, 88, of Waynesburg, died at 7 a.m. Sunday, December 9, 2018, in Donnell House, Washington.
He was born Monday, June 2, 1930, in Daybrook, W.Va., a son of the late Jasper Martin and Sara Sine Martin.
When his health permitted, Mr. Martin attended Landmark Baptist Church in Waynesburg.
He was a member of Waynesburg Masonic Lodge 153, F&AM. He was an avid fisherman and loved reading.
At one time, he worked for Dr. Walker and later at Greene County Memorial Hospital. He retired from Central Greene School District as a custodian.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley J. Fonner Martin.
Also surviving are a daughter, Teresa J. Orum of Waynesburg; a son, Greg (Tammy) Martin of Waynesburg; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the last of his immediate family. Deceased are four sisters: Lena King, Lela Stevens, Opal Martin and Louie Martin, and five brothers, Nelson E. Martin, Edsel Martin, Robert Martin, Charles Martin and Donald Martin.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. A public graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township, Greene County, with Pastor Arnold Watts officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
