Alice R. Kubasky, 100, of Canonsburg, died Monday, December 10, 2018, at North Strabane Retirement Village, Canonsburg.

She was born October 7, 1918, in Washington, one of 11 children to the late Willam and Alice Ireland Bird, Canonsburg.

She attended Canonsburg Schools and graduated from Canonsburg High School in 1937.

She was a lifelong resident of Canonsburg, where she was a member of First Baptist Church. For many years, she was active in the Lady’s Mission and sewing circle, choir, Sunday school teacher and various other church activities.

She was married to Louis A Kubasky on August 30, 1947.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially singing and playing the piano with her sisters. She also liked to travel with her sisters and daughters to nearby glass factories and outlet stores. Sewing, reading, poetry and listening to gospel music were her favorite pastimes.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Dunn and husband Tom of Washington; Lois Duffy and husband Kevin of Wilmington, Del.; two grandchildren, Tom Dunn and wife Lori of Canonsburg and Eileen Roberts and husband Ken of Wilmington; and a great-grandchild expected in December. She was also survived by a sister, Dorothy Jean Stanko; sister-in-law Mildred Kubacki; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her husband, Louis A., who died November 1, 1976; her sisters and brothers, Beatrice M. Meredith, William J. Bird, Jeanette L. Bird, Florence V. Bird, Nellie M. Alderson, Ruth E. Wilson, Richard H. Bird, Freda A. Amorose and W. Lawrence Bird.

Friends and family are welcome 2 to 4 and 6 and 8 p.m. Wednesday in Beinhauer-Bogan Funeral Home, 164 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-5810, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 13.
