Edwin F. Goughenour

Edwin F. “Ed Ford” Goughenour, 82, of Eighty Four, died Monday evening, December 10, 2018, in his home.

He was born February 6, 1936, in Marianna, a son of James and Mary Grace Hines Goughenour.

A veteran, Mr. Goughenour served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion in Hazelkirk.

For over 30 years, he was a postal carrier at Eighty Four Post Office.

Mr. Goughenour had a love for country music that lasted over 60 years. He played in the Classic Country Band at the American Legion in Hazelkirk and Center in the Woods in California.

His wife, Margaret Moore Goughenour, survives. They were married April 29, 1957, in Maryland.

Also surviving are two children, Scott Goughenour (Angel) of Drums and Kelly Thomas (Sean) of Canonsburg; three grandchildren, John C. and Cara Goughenour and Matthew Thomas; brother Glenn Goughenour of Marianna; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a son, John E. Goughenour; granddaughter Dr. Bethany E. Goughenour; and brothers Dave, Burl and Floyd Goughenour.

Friends are welcome from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 15, with Pastor Paul Lesher, officiating. A procession will follow to Emmanuel United Presbyterian Cemetery, Eighty Four, for a committal service.
