Leona I. Dodd
Leona I. Dodd, 79, of Houston, died Monday, December 10, 2018, in Wexford House Nursing Center.
She was born July 19, 1939, in Washington, a daughter of the late William Lester and Maude Cole McVehil.
Mrs. Dodd enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and going to the casino.
She was a caretaker and loved taking care of her husband and grandchildren.
On June 16, 1957, she married James W. Dodd, who died November 28, 2015.
Surviving are two sons, James W. Dodd Jr. (Pamela) of Houston and Donald L. Dodd (Donna) of Chartiers Township; daughter Debra L. Erhart (Keith) of Wexford; six grandchildren, Justin, Melissa, Ryan and Kelsey Dodd, Brandae Quinones (Javier) and Camryn Erhart; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Jameson Quinones; sister Bessie McElhaney (Charles) of Washington; sister-in-law Ethel Wolfe (Charles) of McMurray; and several nieces and nephews.
A brother, William Lester McVehil Jr., is deceased.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 13, with the Rev. Phil Lavery officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
