Samuel K. Francis

Samuel K. Francis, 83, of Waynesburg, passed away peacefully Monday, December 10, 2018, in his home.

He was born May 30, 1935, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Sam and Helen Balionis Francis.

On November 17, 1962, he married Diane Daily, who survives.

Mr. Francis worked as a sales representative for Valspar and Sherwin-Williams. He owned and operated the Isaly’s store in Waynesburg for many years.

Sam had served on the Waynesburg Borough Council. He also served on the Governor’s Justice Commission during the establishment of the Greene County 911 System.

He was a member of the Waynesburg Elks Lodge, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks 757.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son Stephen M. Francis (JoAnne) of Salt Lake City, Utah; daughter Whitney A. Amoroso of Cranberry Township; four grandchildren, Shannon Francis, Matthew Francis, Steven Amoroso and Justin Amoroso; and sister Elizabeth Schueler (Jeff) of Cranberry Township.
