Theresa C. Kopko
Theresa C. Kopko, 93, of Washington, died unexpectedly Friday, December 7, 2018, following a brief illness.
She was born May 16, 1925, in Washington, a daughter of the late Anthony V. and Dolores Frank Russo. Mrs. Kopko was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and baking cookies and birthday cakes. Mrs. Kopko started painting towards the end of her life thanks to her special friend, Kathy Blair. This was something that gave her much pleasure and pride. Most of all, Mrs. Kopko enjoyed spending time with her family. Her family was everything to her. She was totally devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a kind and gentle woman that will be dearly missed.
On her birthday, May 16, 1948, she married her soulmate and man of her dreams, Edward F. Kopko, who survives. The couple had been married for over 70 years. Mr. and Mrs. Kopko spent almost every day together and Mrs. Kopko always lit up when her husband was around. Their life together was a true love story.
Also surviving are a son, Dennis (Linda) Kopko of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter Kathleen (James) McCarl of Carnegie; four grandchildren, Eric Kopko of Navarre, Fla., Brian (Deana) Kopko of Denver, Colo., Courtney Kopko Mani of Charleston, S.C. and Lauren McCarl of Carnegie; seven great-grandchildren, Raven Kopko, Ravea Kopko, Raphael Kopko, Michaela Kopko, Cadence Kopko, Akansha Mani and Omkar Mani.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kopko was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Russo.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, December 15, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum.
