Betty S. Nichols
Betty S. Nichols, 90, of Mather, died Saturday, December 15, 2018.
She was born March 15, 1928, in Perry Township, Fayette County, a daughter of the late Frederick and Ada Shumar Schiffbauer.
Betty was a graduate of Perry High School.
She worked as a custodian and cafeteria worker in Jefferson-Morgan School District.
Betty attended Mather Christian Church and prior to that attended Jefferson Baptist Church.
She was a member of American Legion Post 954 Auxiliary and Jefferson Senior Citizens Center.
On July 1, 1950, she married James U. Nichols, who died July 4, 1971.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda L. Nichols of McMurray; two sons, James F. (Brenda) Nichols of Fredericktown and Robert H. Nichols of Mather; a grandson, Jeff Nichols; and a sister, Norma J. Husar of Baldwin borough.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a daughter-in-law, Eileen Dobbins; two sisters, Margaret “Peg” Speelman and Barbara Vance; and three brothers, John Schiffbauer, Frederick Schiffbauer and Robert Schiffbauer.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 18. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.behm-funeralhomes.com.
