Donald Jack Hibar

Donald Jack Hibar, 80, of Canonsburg, formerly of Donora, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 15, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, 13 days before his 81st birthday.

He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Beverly Huffman Hibar; loving father of Kimberly (Darryl) Hazuga, Sherry (Bill) Mazza and Don (Ally) Hibar; proud grandfather of Jennifer Hibar (AJ) Korbely, Matthew Hibar, Sara Harrington, Sean Harrington, Katie Mazza and Bill Mazza III; cousin of Richard (Donna) Nemec; brother of the late Richard and Paul Hibar; son of the late Richard and Anna Hibar; uncle of the late Cheryl Hibar; and brother-in-law of Jean Link Hibar and Clair Hibar. Donald is also survived by Lori (Brent) Blakkolb; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend Shelly Sargent, RN, BSN, heart failure navigator. Shelly went above and beyond and became more like family through this journey with the Hibar family.

The staff at Concordia Hospice of Washington, Donnell House, also provided great care and support to Donald and his family.

Donald was a welder at Westinghouse, East Pittsburgh and Joy, Meadow Lands. He enjoyed coaching his families Little League baseball, soccer and softball teams.

Donald was also a former member of Wilson United Presbyterian Church, Clairton, and Calvary United Presbyterian Church, Donora, where he served as an elder and deacon. At the time of his death, he was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, where he was part of the Active Senior organization. Donald’s love of music showed, as he was part of the choir at every church.

He was also an avid fisherman, bowler, hunter and bocce player. Most of all, Donald loved his family. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Friends and family are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. An additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Friday, December 21, in Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, 112 West Pike Street, Canonsburg.
