Ada W. Smith
Ada W. Smith, 90, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 19, 2018, in her home.
She was born December 1, 1928, in Washington County, to Daniel and Hazel Bird McCarthy, who preceded her in death.
She was married to the late John Smith.
Ada was a nurses aide at Mayview State Hospital for many years until her retirement.
Mrs. Smith enjoyed going to the casino in her spare time.
She is survived by her son Anthony DelGatti (Susan) of Bel Air, Md.; sister Ruth Hawkins of Southview; her good friend, Marsha Chambers; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, George McGinnis; brother Charles McCarthy; and two sisters Annabele McGinnis and Mary Wolford.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor and Darla A. Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 22. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, 3739 Washington Road, McMurray.
